Multiple iterations explored typography, composition, and graphical elements, each refining the visual expression of the haiku. Adjustments in layout, spacing, and contrast helped develop a more fluid and immersive representation, with every element contributing to the overall narrative.
Using principles of geometry and the golden ratio, the design evolved into a distinctive animal form, balancing organic and structured elements. This stage focused on refining proportions and relationships between shapes, ensuring harmony while maintaining a connection to the traditional aesthetics of haiku.

INSPIRATION
The booklet takes cues from the simplicity and minimalism of traditional Japanese aesthetics while incorporating modern design principles. Playing with pacing, negative space, and unconventional text arrangements, it challenges how poetry is typically consumed—allowing each haiku to breathe and unfold uniquely on the page.
The process began with exploratory sketches, with an objective of capturing the haiku’s essence through composition, rhythm, and spatial relationships. These early studies provided a foundation for translating poetic themes into a visual experience, allowing for experimentation with more complex structure and form.
